Preparing for your Tattoo Appointment
Here are a few suggestions to prepare for your session with me.
Get plenty of sleep the night before your appointment. Avoid alcohol/drug consumption and sun exposure. I can not tattoo you if you are either sunburned or drunk/stoned. Tattoos are an investment in yourself. Protect your investment. Drink plenty of water. Take your vitamins. Eat good food. Healthy bodies heal better and faster. The better you take care of yourself the better your tattoos will heal and hold up over time.
Eat a good meal shortly before your appointment. Bring water or some other beverage to drink & snacks or a meal for longer appointments. I do have a water filter at the studio for refills.
Wear appropriate clothing: comfortable and easy to adjust for access to the area being tattooed. For example tank tops for work on arms, halter tops for shoulders and upper backs, shorts for legs, loose skirts or pants for lower back work, etc… Please do not wear your best white embroidered blouse, or anything that you’d be heartbroken to get stained with some tattoo ink. I do my best to avoid spills, smears & stains but even with the best intentions it does happen sometimes.
Allow yourself plenty of time to be with me. I approach tattooing as a collaboration between you and me. In most circumstances I do most of my drawing with you present so we can discuss the design as it is created. Also, even when I can make a pretty good estimate on the amount of time the actual tattoo will take to create, there are always other factors like, preparation & tattoo placement as well as breaks & phone calls so please do not make dinner reservations at a 5 star restaurant right after you think I’ll be finished with your tattoo. Your tattoo is going to be with you for the rest of your life, and I will take all the time it needs to be as sublime as possible for you.
For single session tattoos your non-refundable deposit goes towards the cost of your tattoo on the day of your appointment and I take Cash and Mastercard or Visa for the remaining balance due at your appointment. For multiple session tattoos your deposit will be counted towards your final sitting. I have a minimum of a 48 hour cancelation policy to reschedule your appointment.
